Why would a woman artist make picture books?
As a human I was born in a female body. I studied psychology, met my life partner, became a certified art teacher, taught for 25 years, developed myself as an artist, became a mother, raised two children and in the meantime have become a grandmother. Being an artist who has now reached the age of 65, I take all this life experience with me. As an artist I do not retire. Sooner or later my life will end, when I die. Until that time, I live in a world I have my thoughts about. And there are things I want to do with them.
We people are living on a wonderful planet with a magnificent nature of a breathtaking beauty. The Earth with its nature is our home. Without this Earth we could not have existed in an icy universe with no oxygen. I believe there are very good reasons to carefully look after this living Earth. But people only care for something if they really love it. If someone really loves something or somebody, there will be no use or abuse. You cannot start teaching children to love the Earth and its nature at too early an age. The Ohmir stories try to contribute to it. It’s me who creates the picture books, but it's the educator's role to read them to the children. Unfortunately not yet available in English
